manufacturing. During my tenure I helped to migrate existing systems implemented
in a proprietary mainframe language into modern web applications capable of running
on commodity hardware. I also worked to allow the system to interact with numerous
third party systems via web services, as well as RFID and Handheld device data feeds.

Lead Programmer - Vesdia Corporation
Skills Utilized:
- ASP.Net
- VB.Net

- Database Design
- Systems Architecture
- Infrastructure Design and Implementation
Vesdia specializes in creating cobrandable versions of its internet platform for
various clients (MBNA, CITIBank). As lead developer I am responsible for the design,
deployment, and upkeep of numerous systems, including:
- Cobrandable Web Site System: Architected and implemented a template based system
to allow rapid implementation of private label web sites for partners, as well as
the further co branding of those private labels to allow the partners to cater to
smaller demographics within their user bases.
- Intranet Application: Wrote a system to allow business users and clients to access
and modify the web applications with minimum intervention from the development staff.
Most facets of the site can be edited and created from within the application. In
addition, it features a fine grained permitions structure to limit functional areas
of the application on a user by user basis. Business reporting tools, a ticket system,
and user editing functionality are also accessible.
- Email Marketing System: Wrote a database driven template based system to allow rapid
emailing of arbitrary client groups by the marketing department, minimizing IT's
role in day to day communications to customers while maximizing the flexibility
and power of the system.
- Multilingual Content System: Designed and implemented a system to allow mulitlingual
content on the sites. XML was heavily utilized, along with server side data caching
and facilities to allow for an arbitrary number of languages for a given site with
little to no performance impact.
- Implementation and design of a continuous integration environment for developers,
utilizing open source software to minimize costs.
- Migration of an existing single server ASP environment to a load balanced, redundant,
enterprise grade facility. Responsibilities included creating specifications, managing
a competitive bidding process with several hosting providers, and overseeing the
transition to the new environment with 0 downtime.
- Communications with clients and partners to gather requirements for new projects
- Day to day management, guidance, and assistance of a team of developers
